So, I hate to be a killjoy here, but I was reading the eligibility rules below the schedule of voting, and...

Active football coaches in all NCAA divisions with a winning record are eligible to receive the 2009 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award. The winner in each division is chosen using a combination of fan votes and votes received from members of the 2009 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Selection Committee. To be a finalist, a coach must NOT have had: Major program infractions assessed by the NCAA in the current year (2009) at the school he represents. APR penalties assessed to his program by the NCAA in the last two reporting periods. Or major integrity violations during 2009, as determined solely by Liberty Mutual (also applies to members of coach's staff).

Would the APR penalties we have now count against Huesman, or is he counted for Richmond's past two APR periods (i.e., if Richmond had gotten penalized and UTC hadn't, would he be ineligible)?

And he's got to have a winning record to be eligible.

I would hope it would be based on the fact that the APR issues were not of his doing.

Ironically, this would throw Jack Crowe out of the running...the APR issues at Jacksonville State are on his watch.

Either way, I am still voting every day until it ends. We'll get him up there as high as we can. It can be our way of showing support for what he is doing for our school and program.

No problem. This thread reeked of optimism... it was making me uncomfortable so I felt like I should even it out a little bit.

I still plan on voting every day, as I have the past few since this was posted. Even if he does up being ineligible, just getting him on the list is good exposure, right?

And, as of about 4:30, we're only 25 votes out of the top 10.
