Betty Sue Farmer passed away last week (her last name was Kelly back then, he husband was the car dealer). She was my first landlord when I rented part of the famous/infamous "Yellow House" on Oak Street while attending UTC.
Her son was my next door neighbor, Tim Kelly. That is how I started a friendship that brought me to where I am today, doing something I really love, working in athletics for Chattanooga Football Club.
So many of my friends rented apartments/houses from her on Oak Street back in the day. She was always very understanding and easy to work with if we had a problem.
She was also the UTC women's tennis coach back in their early 80's heyday when they won 3 DII National Championships.
Take the time to read her obit, it's not sad, it's an inspiration! She lived life to the fullest.
