Track Heads to Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational
The Mocs will begin events Friday evening with the women's 1500 meter. Sophomore Hannah Chamblin (Memphis, Tenn.) will run the first heat of the 1500 meter run while senior Helenka Kis (Columbia, Tenn.) and junior Katie DeMars (Knoxville, Tenn.) will be in the fifth heat. Sophomore Anna Kate Chance (Columbia, Tenn.) will compete in the 5000 meter run later in the evening to conclude the women's events for Friday.
On Saturday, the Mocs will compete in seven different events including sprints, distance, steeple chase and field events as well as a relay.
Sophomore Emily Drouin (Verona, Ontario) and freshman Haley Morris (Lenoir City, Tenn.) will begin the day for Chattanooga with the 2000 meter Steeplechase event set to begin at 1:15 p.m. Eastern Time. Senior Makala Diggs (Box Elder, S.D.) will run the 400m with freshman Mercedes Bright (Kingsport, Tenn.) competing in the 100 meter dash.
