CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team returns to the tee Monday at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate. This is the fifth straight entry in the event for the Mocs with Berkeley Hill Country Club proving to be a friendly venue.
Chattanooga has finished top 4 in each previous visit. It has also boasted the runner-up individually all four years with Steven Fox (2011, 2012) and Liam Johnston (2013, 2014) providing the fireworks.
The Mocs have shown an ability to compete but not sustain so far. They're coming off a tie for seventh at the Wolfpack Fall Open.
"We're playing well for two-thirds to three-fourths of tournaments," coach Mark Guhne said. "We've had one person play lights out but not get the support. We have to find a way to play a complete 54 holes.
"That doesn't mean there won't be a mistake or two, but we need to manage it better and play complete rounds."
The lineup this week has a slight change with junior Kory Webb inserted after a strong finish playing as an individual at the Wolfpack. Juniors Wes Gosselin and Brooks Thomas, along with sophomores Stuart Thomas and Andrew Weathers join him. Freshman Lake Johnson is playing as an individual.
