The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team returned home in style Saturday afternoon with a 83-52 win over Western Carolina to extend their winning streak to 11 games.
The win was the Mocs' Southern Conference home opener and first home game since Dec. 21.
UTC (15-3, 3-0 SoCon) used its aggressive defense to get 12 steals, and the Mocs scored 20 points off 17 Catamounts turnovers.
Chelsey Shumpert led the way with 15 points and a career-best nine assists. Four other UTC players scored in double figures, and every active UTC player scored in the win.
Western Carolina (8-10, 0-3) was led by Justin Taylor with 13 points.
