UTC Chancellor Roger Brown said Thursday that, with enrollment climbing, the university plans to go to the state within the next couple of years to ask for funding for an additional site and buildings.
He said the university passed the 10,000-student mark last fall and is pushing 11,000 this year.
In a speech to the Rotary Club, Chancellor Brown said it appears this year's enrollment will peak not far below 11,000. It currently is at 10,874, which is another record enrollment and represents a 3.28 percent increase from last fall. In fall 2009, the total enrollment was 10,526.
