I don't care one way or the other whether he comes back. After watching last night, we will be just fine if he doesn't come back, but if he does come back and is willing to be a part of the team, then I'm OK with that. People get paid more money than me to make these decisions. If they were paying me, I'd probably ask him to work on his degree but not play, but I don't know every detail, and like I said, I'm not getting paid the big bucks to make this decision. In other words, that decision is above my pay grade.

Josh Harrelson of Kentucky last year had a couple of disparaging tweets towards Calipari (clearly not as severe as what Early said). He complained that he never got any praise from Cal and said a couple of other things. Cal shut down his Twitter account. Harrelson went on to become one of Kentucky's most important players and a starter on a Final Four team. So, guys can come back from this sort of thing and be productive. And sometimes coaches can even forgive their players for what gets said.

That being said, Harrelson's comments were not NEARLY as disparaging. The Kentucky broadcasters last night on the pregame show were talking about the comparison, and all thought Early deserved to be suspended, but all seemed to agree that he did not deserve to be off the team unless he showed no remorse (I have no idea if he has or not). Several of the former players on there mentioned that they had hated their coach plenty of times during their careers and were angry with them, but they didn't have the outlet to publish that like Twitter or Facebook, which probably saved them. These are guys that really loved their coach- but just were having a bad couple of days. Again, I don't like what Early said, but I do have some sympathy for him here. He mouthed off, and should not have done it. He should know better, but I just can't sit here and rip him to shreds over it....I know that I hated one of my basketball coaches with a passion and I told plenty of people how I felt (not the best thing to do, but it happens)- but he made me much better. I know that I had times when I did not like my other coaches, who also made me better, but also really liked them most of the time. It's not the same thing- I get that, but it is just something to remember.
