from last year.....Coach Satterfield on recruiting– “mistermoc wrote: we will sign 20 players and redshirt them this year and sign 20 more and red shirt them next year also..We should not expect a quick fix guys, but a solid foundation with steady improvement!! I have always believed in red-shirting incoming freshmen and allowing them to get a firm grip on their academics first, build their strength and speed, and get a handle on the playbook before playing.”

If we have issues at depth, then this strategy will start to pay dividends in the Fall 2011. I get a little giddy when I see the players from this past class that are being redshirted. We are young this year and will only lose ten seniors this year. BTW – Fall 2011 you should expect to have only 1 Senior on the O-Line Omre Harris. O-Line will be losing some serious players. Harr, Galyon and Hurless are far more than just big bodies on the Line. All three are experienced players who are proven leaders. With the injuries to some of the other O-linemen it has proven once again how invaluable it is to be able to pull one or two guys off the bench and not skip a beat. Tate has stepped in nicely with the injury to Adam Miller and Austin Wilson did a fine job last week stepping in for Omre. With Hewitt, Dockery, Tate, Miller, Gibson, Harris, Wilson, Cathey and new comers Watson, Caldwell, Dodds and Presnell the O-Line coaches will be coaching hard and probably yelling loud this spring. Nothing replaces experience and these boys are going to have some serious "on the job training" the next few years.

Transfers - I doubt anybody would disapprove on the decision to accept the transfers of Chris Donald or Nick Davidson. Both have played lights out so far this season. Just need to make sure both are doing their jobs in the classroom as well.

At the end of the day, the Team will be better with more scholarships to offer. So far this coaching staff has been able to recognize and sign players based on need and talent. As a fan I am very excited about the future of this program.
