Piney Woods senior Xavian Rimmer has made his college choice, verbally committing to Tennessee-Chattanooga.

Rimmer, a 6-1 guard, made his decision after visiting the Southern Conference school last week. He also had scholarship offers from Texas-San Antonio and Louisiana-Monroe as well as interest from Middle Tennessee, Murray State and Wichita State.

"They recruited me as a point guard, which is what I want to play on the next level," said Rimmer, who averaged about 17 points as a junior en route to All-Metro honors from The Clarion-Ledger. "They have the major I'm interested in, too, food management and nutrition. The coaches really recruited me hard and the visit went great."

It's possible Rimmer could be joined at UTC by one of his Piney Woods teammates, 6-7 senior forward Kentwon Smith. The Mocs are also interested in Smith, a native of the Bahamas and returning All-Metro pick who's visiting Louisiana-Lafayette this weekend.

The week-long early signing period begins Nov. 10.
