www.bbstate.com has murray and us at 1.3 overall hoops budget for 2008. this may or may not be accurate. i will check usa today online database. they usually have info like this. i also know that overall budget is not really all telling. recruiting budget and coaches salaries are what i am most interested in seeing.

Kyle Whelliston (former ESPN mid-major guru) owns/runs both bbstate and midmajority (using, of course, the same numbers...which I believe he gets from the department of education).

The problem with the numbers is, schools are not required to submit them (it is not like they are filing with the IRS)...the numbers are voluntary (which is why it is so hard to find any private school numbers...almost none of the release their financials publicly).

Also, many schools do their numbers differently.  Some schools will always show a balanced budget (like UC), some show actual profit and loss.  Some schools include their scholarships as part of their basketball expenses, some schools consider scholarships as part of their overall athletics budget, but not part of individual budgets.  Some schools put their coaches down as athletics department employees and not apart of individual budgets.

In other words...it makes it almost impossible to really compare between schools (though these numbers can at least give you can get a general idea).
