Running back's LeSean McCoy, a rookie second-round draft pick from the University of Pittsburgh and Eldra Buckley, a waiver pickup in March, both absorbed punishing pops.

But both also shined. McCoy was gangtackled after slipping in the backfield, and thinking that the play was dead, he got up slowly. Then, was drilled back down.

He later joked about it.

Buckley had some very good runs, ripping off one 40-yard gain and mauling for effective other 5-to-10-yard gains, but the former first-team All-Southern Conference back from the University of Tennesee-Chattanooga twice had his helmet knocked off.

The crowd roared both times Buckley rose as if not bothered both times. Later, coach Andy Reid said that he was happy about the intensity level of the overall practice.
