The school was built within a city. That is the hand we are dealt and we must continue on with it. I enjoy UTC's campus alot and I think a new library is going to be fabulous. Makes me sad that we arent up to speed on library/rec centers/new academic buildings like Georgia Southern is. But when Tennessee doesn't fund higher education and Georgia does, this is what is bound to happen. And of course the never ending battle over enrollment numbers we discuss all the time about the UT System. Why they only want UT to thrive is beyond me, but it sure seems that way.
No doubt GSU has a very nice campus (though the gnats are a bit rough)...of course, they have plenty of room because they are pretty much in the middle of nowhere...(this is also the same place that cannonizes a drainage ditch. While GSU might be ahead in certain buildings (though I guess you missed the $40 million dollar engineering building...the half way finished new student rec center...and the only basketball practice facility in the SoCon...with a new weight room for all sports), they are behind in others...our 25 year old Roundhouse runs circles around Hanner. I guess my point is, different schools have different needs at different times...you can look at pretty much any school in the conference and they will be have better facilities in certain areas...and will be behind in others. We might be "behind" in our library right now...but in 3 years, we will have the nicest one in the SoCon (just like we now have one of the best enrg buildings in the Southeast) BTW...my next comment is half joking and half slightly annoyed... ...is it possible for you to make a post without mentioning GSU? (before I even opened the thread, all I had to do was to see you had posted and I knew the message would 1) mention how much you love Chattanooga...and then 2) letting us know how much better, in your opinion, GSU is in some area)
