<p>With 10,250 students currently signed up for classes at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, student parking spaces, seats in the dining hall and
dorm rooms have become hot commodities. And the university, financially pressed by the economic downturn, has little to no money to pump into expanding

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Hundreds of UTC students will be put up in the city&#39;s swankiest hotels this fall since the school can&#39;t house its record-breaking freshman
class.</p>

<p>The Chattanoogan, a city-owned luxury hotel where many visiting conference are held, has been contracted to house 200 students this fall, and the Sheraton
Read House Hotel will house 50 students. Last year, 40 students were housed at the Days Inn Riverside.</p>

gone.  The club baseball team finished out a tough season with a winning record of 10-9.  They were 6-4 in their conference featuring two wins against MTSU and
a win against UTK at Engel Stadium in their only meeting.  The team looks forward to tryouts in the fall and hosting two tournaments with 4-8 club teams

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>After months of speculation about layoffs and academic hatchet work, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga emerged from this year&#39;s budget process
relatively unscathed.</p>

<p>More than 200 people will be laid off at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and at UT Martin eight people will lose their jobs.</p>

<p>The Chattanooga campus has announced only one layoff: the director of the UTC Children&#39;s Center.</p>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>It will be harder for some high school students to enter UTC this fall, since officials plan to ratchet up admission standards.</p>

<p>Next year, the minimum grade point average will jump from 2.0 to 2.3, and the ACT score requirement will increase from 17 to 18.</p>

<p>UTC Chancellor Roger Brown said the change will improve UTC&#39;s freshman retention rate, which now is the lowest in the UT system at 61 percent.</p>

graduate programs at an in-state rate.</p>
