Racer EMT here wishing ya'll good luck tommorrow night when your team visits the RSEC( Home of the #1 OVC Murray State Racers). Should be a good game and from the stats i have found we are pretty evenly matched. Was wandering if your team is deep off the bench. We can go 12 deep with no let up, that how we have wore down teams lately. Anyway should be one heck of a battle.

ELON, N.C. -- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball dug itself out of a big hole in the first half Thursday night at Alumni Gym. But the Lady Mocs made too many mistakes to do it again in the second.

Elon took advantage of a sloppy performance by the Lady Mocs to win 74-66, earning the Phoenix their first victory ever against UTC and their first Southern Conference win of the season.

Bell too ill to practice (TFP)

Keegan Bell missed the most difficult practice of the year Wednesday, which was followed Thursday by a practice that ranks in the top 10.

He missed that, too, and may miss the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's 3 p.m. basketball game Saturday at Murray State.

An intestinal virus made the sophomore point guard so sick Thursday he couldn't even attend practice to watch.

Elon scored the first 11 points and never looked back.

It was almost the biggest night in Elon basketball history as the Phoenix led NC State for almost 30 minutes in Raleigh before falling late (by about 6).

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Kori Penland, a sophomore guard for the Chattanooga women's basketball team, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for December 16.

The Chickamauga, Ga., native is majoring in education and has a 3.87 GPA.

Mariani, Szczur are All-Americans

Both of the teams in Friday's FCS national championship game were well represented in the Associated Press All-America teams, which were released Wednesday.

Top-seeded Montana and No. 2 seed Villanova had three players each selected to either the first, second or third teams. On the first team were Montana wide receiver Marc Mariana and Villanova's Matt Szczur, who made it as an all-purpose player.

At the beginning of this month, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team was licking its wounds after a 22-point loss at Southern Conference rival Samford on Nov. 30.

It was the Lady Mocs' fourth loss in five games, and the team's confidence clearly was shaken heading into a three-game home stretch. Two weeks and three wins later, UTC (5-5, 2-1) begins its first true SoCon road swing tonight at Elon (3-5, 0-2) as a much more confident team....

As of Wednesday afternoon, 13,155 tickets have been sold for Friday's game at Finley Stadium, including 9,455 locally, Greater Chattanooga Sports & Events Committee president Scott Smith said.

Montana returned 300 of the 3,000 tickets it requested, Smith said. Villanova requested the minimum allotment of 1,000 tickets.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seniors Craig Camay and Josh Beard received one more honor Wednesday when they made the Associated Press' FCS All-America team.

Beard, the Southern Conference defensive player of the year, was named to the third-team defense after finishing with 12 sacks. Camay, a first-team All-SoCon pick, was named to the second team after converting 16 of 19 field-goal attempts. The Mocs also recovered five of his six onside kicks.
